Ingredients

- 4 ripe pears
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Peel the pears and cut them in half, removing the core.
- In a saucepan, combine water, honey, vanilla, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the pears to the simmering liquid.
- Cook the pears for about 20-25 minutes until tender.
- Remove the pears and let them cool.
- Reduce the poaching liquid until it thickens slightly.
- Serve the pears drizzled with the honey syrup.
Notes
- Use firm pears to prevent them from becoming mushy.
- Serve with ice cream or yogurt for added flavor.
- Store leftovers in the syrup in the refrigerator.
