Ingredients

- 500g white fish fillets
- 200g smoked haddock
- 300ml milk
- 50g butter
- 50g plain flour
- 1 onion, diced
- 150g peas
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 900g potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 100ml double cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Boil the potatoes until soft, then mash with butter and cream.
- In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion until soft.
- Add flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
- Add fish, peas, and parsley to the sauce.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes and smooth the surface.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Use any firm white fish.
- For extra flavor, add a dash of lemon juice.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
