Description

Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish featuring chicken breasts cooked in a rich mushroom and Marsala wine sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Marsala wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the chicken until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until browned.
  6. Pour in the Marsala wine and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits.
  7. Add chicken broth and return the chicken to the skillet.
  8. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  9. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with pasta or mashed potatoes.
