Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for custard)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for custard)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, cornstarch, sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the custard mixture over the baked crust.
  7. Bake for an additional 25 minutes or until set.
  8. Let cool before slicing into squares.
