Description
A classic tuna melt sandwich with melted cheese and toasted bread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of tuna (drained)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
- Butter for spreading
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, and onion.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side, place a slice of cheese, then add a generous amount of the tuna mixture.
- Top with another slice of cheese and another piece of bread, buttered side up.
- Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Cut in half and serve warm.
Notes
- You can add pickles or hard-boiled eggs to the tuna mixture for extra flavor.
- Serve with a side salad or chips.
- Try using different types of bread like sourdough or whole grain.
