Description

A classic tuna melt sandwich with melted cheese and toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna (drained)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, and onion.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side, place a slice of cheese, then add a generous amount of the tuna mixture.
  5. Top with another slice of cheese and another piece of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Cut in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can add pickles or hard-boiled eggs to the tuna mixture for extra flavor.
  • Serve with a side salad or chips.
