A simple and flavorful one pot dish featuring shawarma seasoned chicken and rice.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 2 cups of basmati rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of shawarma spice mix
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add chicken thighs and season with shawarma spice, salt, and pepper.
  5. Brown the chicken on all sides.
  6. Add the rice and stir to combine.
  7. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until rice is cooked.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
