  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  7. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each into a bite-sized ball.
  8. Boil the pretzel bites in batches for 30 seconds each.
  9. Remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
