- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn kernels and place them in a large bowl.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium heat until it boils.
- Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the popped popcorn and mix well.
- Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 250°F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
